JANUARY 2, 2005

WELL ITS ABOUT TIME I UPDATED!

Hey everyone, I had nearly forgotten about this site. I'm so used to telling people updates I forgot to update this one. Lane is getting soo big! He cut his first tooth on Christmas day, had his first 24-hour flu on Christmas eve. He's really scootin around. He does like this little army-GI Joe crawl. Crawling over his arms and kickin his legs. He started stage 1 baby foods. So far just sweet potatoes and squash. And pieces of real bananas. No pictures added yet. We moved to a new home out in the Hockinson area and now have 1.5 acres but no internet access. Once we get that I think I will make a fresh new page with oodles of pictures! I also quit my job. I've decided that I wasn't making enough money to make it worth going to work and not staying with Lane. So now, its mommy and Lane Monday - Friday. :) Its pretty awesome, except for when he fights his naps. Well I better go, the bean is scootin towards some trouble...the Christmas tree...

    1 Month/5 weeks tomorrow

    **ADDED LANE'S ALBUM!!

LANE RONNIE WHITE born July 2, 2004 at 12:18pm!! 19" (though we think they missmeasured him cause at 2 weeks he was 21 1/2"), 8 pounds, 12 ounces.

PHEW! I guess its about time I update. Lane is here and amazing! I love him him so much its surreal.

Here's a little story on the labor just to clue some of you in. I started having contractions at 4:30am July 2nd, woke Jack up at about 5 and we got to the hospital about 6/6:30. I dialted pretty fast while I was there and was admitted about 7:30/8. Got my epidural in around 9. They had me start pushing around 11 and out he came at 12:18pm!! Pushing was a lot easier then I thought, probably because of the epidural. Contractions though...those were the WORST THING EVER IN MY LIFE! I tore pretty bad during labor, a 4 degree tear which I guess only happens to 2% of women who do tear. Hurray for me! (Not really) Things are going very well. He did have some jaundice in the beginning and they had to put him in the hospital for 36 hours. That was terrible. We could only hold him every 3 hours (to breastfeed) and could only hold him for about 40 minutes each time. He's a pretty good baby. He may have colic or is just a real cling on and wants to be held all the time :) Jack and I are just in awe and in total love with our little creation. Motherhood is amazing. I recommend it to all women. :) To see the look on your baby's face when he finally recognizes you or stops crying just at the sound of your voice or smiles at you for the first time its all truly amazing. Better go, Grandma is done giving him a bath and he needs his momma :)

    38 weeks, 4 days

Well, had a doctor's appt yesterday. She said I was 1 1/2cm dialated and 50% effaced. She also stripped my membranes to spend things up perhaps? I lost my plug today too. So hopefully this all means stuff is happening and soon. :) We have another doctor's appt tomorrow to recheck things down there and to do a follow up on my blood pressure since it was higher then usual on Monday. They took it 3 times and it was 140/90 during one reading. So she put me on bed rest. No more work for me! Too bad tomorrow is the last day of school for Vancouver so that means the pool will now be swarming with the bratty kids that live around us. At least the temps are lower for the rest of the week. I don't even know if I can go in the pool now anymore anyway...The house needs one more clean sweep and then I think we'll be officially ready!! HURRAY!

Its hard to believe there are only about 4 weeks left! We had the baby shower on Saturday and got lots of great stuff but we still need a few more things. Diaper bag, baby tub, monitors, sling...My mom made a beautiful quilt. Jack seems to think its his hehe. My next appt is oddly not until the 21st so we'll see what my doc says. Hopefully I'll remember tomorrow to call in and see if I can get an appt before then. Friday night my sis, her family and I went down to the Rose Festival and I bought a necklace that has my name, Jack's and Lane's name written on a grains of rice! I love it so much and I think I know how to make them now too...Ebay idea perhaps? :) I'm thinking my last day at work will be the 25th of June, if not sooner, SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! :)

Well goodnight everyone! Pictures of the shower coming soon!

    33 weeks, 3 days

Getting oh so closer! Things have been going really well lately. I had my 33 week appt yesterday and all was good, except for the doctor. My usual doctor was out and I had someone new. HE WAS AN IDIOT! Acted as though he didn't even care about me or the baby. But he did say that he has flipped. So that means his head is down and in the birthing position. Hurray! One reason for a c-section is ruled out! :) I seem to be nesting these days. I had yesterday off from work and today and I can't stop cleaning! My sister and I went to Walmart yesterday and we went down the cleaning isle and it made me even more excited to clean. So many neat cleaning products and gadgets! haha So all is well here...and soon to be super clean too! :)

Things are going really wonderful right now! Lane's room is slowly coming together. I finished his curtains and I love them. We got a few things to hang on the walls. And now I'm trying to figure out if and what I want to paint on one of the walls. I'd like to do a mural but I don't want to put a lot of work in to something that will just get painted over when we move out. Plans for the baby shower keep getting pushed back, but oh well, I want to make sure everyone can go. :) Not much else to say right now, except for we have about 60 days left and are super excited!! :) HURRAY!

    27 weeks, 2 days

Things are going so wonderful! We finally got a computer at home! YEAH! Now all we need is a faster connection! :) The baby's room is coming along nicely. I made some drapes for the bay window in his room yesterday. A sheer white material with a red bandana boarder I sewed along the bottom. I'm very proud of them. I've been making lots of wall art for his room too. I can tell Jack wants to be more involved in the "design" of his son's room so I also bought some western coloring books for him to color a picture for Lane that we'll frame and hang up :). We walked around Saturday market on Saturday and that was nice. The weather was perfect. I did get light headed once but I think its cause I locked my knees while we were on the Max. I really wanted to get a lot of unique baby stuff, which there was a lot of but waaay over our budget, so we just got 2 tie dyed onsies. One is shades of blue, the other is green and yellow. They'll be perfect for this summer! I better get goin. Time is going by so fast, yet so slow. We can't wait til Lane gets here!!

PS. We registered at Target, I think I already said that in the post before this one...under Myndi Campbell and Jack White. It says the baby's name is Lain, ignore that spelling. :) THANKS FOR ALL THE WARM WISHES EVERYONE!!

    24 weeks and 6 days

Not much is new in the life of the bean. He makes himself known throughout the day by kicking and scuirming around. Daddy got to feel it for the first time last week. He didn't believe it was the baby at first. The next day we read that we could hear the heart beat just by listening to my belly. So Jack tried and that was unsuccessful but he did get kicked. That was pretty funny. Our roommate moved out last weekend so his old room will now be Lane's until I can get more rental history for us to rent a house. Last weekend we also registered at Target under Myndi Campbell and/or Jack White. At the time we entered the baby's name as Lain but that needs to be corrected. We'd like it to be Layne, but it may end up Lane. Today my sister gave us her infant car seat and stroller and my boss' wife gave us a crib she had in storage. Both are in great condition so thats wonderful news. Hopefully this weekend we'll get to do a little decorating. Right now Lane's room only has his dresser and my glider that Jack got me for Christmas. But also has Jack's guitars, keyboard and bike. In a few weeks or so we should have our own computer at home so expect more updates soon! Goodnight everyone!

So the little bean is a kicking machine! He is quiet the wiggle worm. The other day in the car it was like he punched me! Jack has yet to feel it, poor guy. I'm beginning to think he thinks I'm making it up. I told him yesterday that I could actually SEE him kick once and he was like whatever, stop lying. Why do you play these games with me. Haha such a jokster. Well, hopefull we find a house or a duplex soon. I can't wait to get out of these apartments and into our new home so we can start decorating the nursery and actually buying the Bean stuff. I'm holding off until we move so we don't have a ton of extra things to haul around. Oh and today I may have thought of an online business idea that I could do based at home. That would be great! I'll keep yall updated on that...Anything I can do to be a stay at home mom! :) My sister Jessica may do it with me, so that'll be nice :) By the way, does anyone know if babies have gas? I know they can get the hiccups, but I think I felt him fart last night?....strange. He's already just like his daddy. hehe Ta ta for now everyone!
